CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying has been turned upside down and one of the reasons for that has been Bolivia's strong performances. After Copa America, Bolivia have now gone on a run of winning three consecutive matches including a home victory over Colombia. Not to be underestimated, Bolivia will give a shorthanded Argentina side a run for their money on Tuesday. Playing in the rain against Venezuela, Argentina labored to a draw without key players like Emiliano Martinez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Cristian Romero. Mac Allister should be available for this match to provide a boost to midfield but the defense will need to be on their game to avoid more dropped points in World Cup qualifying.
Argentina: The fact that two consecutive matches without a win is so surprising for Argentina shows how high expectations have been under Lionel Scaloni. Without regulars as of late, things have been tougher than expected but Argentina are still atop the table. Without picking up a win against Bolivia, that could change but at least a point will ensure that they're atop the table with 10 matches done and dusted. This blip will be temporary before the unbeatable side that we've become used to returns to form.
Bolivia: The story so far of South American qualifying, Bolivia have been on quite the ride scoring for fun while also playing enough defense to get by. Odds are that this is a match where that run will come to an end but playing with the belief that Bolivia have currently is when surprise can happen. Now up to sixth in CONMEBOL with four wins in their last five matches, even a loss to Argentina wouldn't be a massive setback to Bolivia's World Cup dreams.
