European Transfer Rumors/News: Chelsea, Bayern, Al-Nassr Lead the Chase

Published on Apr 18, 2025

As the European football season approaches its climax, transfer speculations are intensifying across the continent. Major clubs are eyeing key reinforcements, while breakout stars are catching the attention of Europe’s elite. Here's the most current transfer gossip making waves as of April 18, 2025.

Chelsea appear to be leading the charge for Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The 20-year-old winger, once valued at €100 million ($107 million), has seen his price halved to €50 million ($53.5 million) due to a lack of tactical fit under Niko Kovac. Liverpool remain interested but are unlikely to match Chelsea’s early aggression in negotiations.

Over at Old Trafford, Manchester United are hot on the heels of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap. The young Englishman has a €46 million ($50 million) release clause and is being scouted by Chelsea and others. United view him as a long-term solution for their frontline and are expected to make a formal offer soon.

In Saudi Arabia, Al-Nassr have shifted their focus from Real Madrid’s Vinícius Jr. to Liverpool’s Luis Díaz. This follows reports that rivals Al-Ahli are planning a record-breaking €350 million ($375 million) bid for the Brazilian. Díaz, who has delivered 15 goals and five assists this season, is now seen as a more accessible target to support Cristiano Ronaldo in attack.

Tottenham Hotspur are contemplating a permanent deal for Mathys Tel, the French striker currently on loan from Bayern Munich. Spurs had negotiated a €50 million ($53.5 million) buy option during the January window but are now pushing to lower the fee due to financial constraints.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are plotting a summer swoop for Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is estimated to be worth upwards of €100 million ($107 million). Bayern have reportedly held multiple meetings with Wirtz’s camp and are confident of securing the signature despite competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Bayern are also pursuing Dean Huijsen, the highly-rated Bournemouth center-back. A move valued at around €46 million ($50 million) is being considered, although the Bundesliga giants would need to offload a current defender to make room.

In La Liga, Barcelona’s teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal has drawn significant interest from Liverpool and Manchester City. The 17-year-old winger is seen as a long-term asset for both clubs, though Barcelona are unlikely to entertain any offers unless forced by financial pressure.

From Serie A, Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz could be heading to Newcastle United in a potential swap deal involving Sandro Tonali. Juventus are reportedly considering cashing in on Luiz following inconsistent performances, while Tonali could be tempted by a return to Italy.

With the summer transfer window looming, European clubs are already laying the groundwork for big moves. Whether it's Chelsea’s aggressive play for Bynoe-Gittens, Bayern’s hunt for Wirtz, or Al-Nassr's ambition to pair Díaz with Ronaldo, the transfer market is heating up with stories worth watching.
