Manchester City have received the highest payout from UEFA’s Club Benefits Programme, collecting approximately €5.17 million ($5.94 million) for releasing players for international duty during the 2020–2024 cycle. This compensation reflects City’s major contribution to various national teams during tournaments including the 2020–21 and 2022–23 UEFA Nations League editions, the 2022–24 European Championship qualifiers, and the UEFA Euro 2024 final tournament..

UEFA’s Club Benefits Programme distributed a record €233 million ($267 million) to 901 clubs across all 55 member associations. The payments were calculated based on the number of players each club released and the duration of their participation in national team competitions. Clubs earned fixed amounts per player for UEFA Nations League and European Championship qualifiers, as well as daily fees for players involved in the Euro 2024 final tournament.

Manchester City’s significant international representation allowed them to surpass all other clubs in Europe. Real Madrid and Inter Milan followed closely behind, receiving €4.79 million ($5.50 million) and €4.65 million ($5.34 million) respectively.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin praised the importance of the programme, stating, "It is fantastic to see clubs of all sizes and levels, across the entire football pyramid, receiving financial rewards for their vital role in developing players who contribute to the success of our national team competitions."
