The Premier League returns on Saturday with a handful of the top teams in action including Manchester City and Arsenal as they eye a third successive win to start the season.
Arsenal will play the first game of the weekend, facing high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion who have also won their first two matches of the season. This matchup will be an early litmus test for both sides and Brighton in particular, especially after picking up a 2-1 win over Manchester United last week. It also marks the first big test for Arsenal this season as they aim to improve upon back-to-back second-place finishes.
The day's action closes out with Manchester City's trip to West Ham United, another game in which the reigning champions are the heavy favorites. Erling Haaland is already off to a strong start this season, scoring four goals in two league games and is expected to play a big part on Saturday as Pep Guaridola's side go for a fifth Premier League title in a row.
Sunday, meanwhile, has the headlining act of the weekend -- Liverpool's trip to Manchester United. The Red Devils will look to redeem themselves after a disappointing result at Brighton, but last season's woes might carry into this season for Erik ten Hag. It means they are not necessarily the favorites to beat their rivals at home, even as a little bit of uncertainty lingers around Liverpool a few short weeks into Arne Slot's tenure at the club.
