Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Earns First Portugal U15 Call-Up, Continues Family Legacy

Published on May 06, 2025

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the eldest son of football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, has taken a major step in his burgeoning career after earning his first call-up to Portugal’s Under-15 national team. The 14-year-old forward will represent his country in the upcoming Vlatko Marković International Tournament, to be held in Croatia from May 13 to 18, where Portugal will face Japan, Greece, and England.

Currently part of the Al-Nassr youth academy in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo Jr. has been gaining attention for his impressive technical ability, work ethic, and scoring record. Despite eligibility to represent the United States (where he was born), Spain, or Portugal, the teenager has opted to follow in his father’s footsteps and don the Portuguese colors.

His selection by the national team adds another chapter to the Ronaldo legacy, which has spanned decades and continents. Cristiano Ronaldo Sr., now 40 and still playing at a high level with Al-Nassr’s senior side, expressed his pride on social media with a heartfelt message: “Proud of you, son!”—sharing the national team call-up announcement with millions of his followers.

Ronaldo Jr.’s football journey has taken him through some of Europe’s top academies. He featured for youth teams at Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United, consistently standing out. During his time at Juventus’ academy, he reportedly netted 58 goals in a single season. Now at Al-Nassr, he captained the U13 side to a league title and has occasionally trained with older age groups, underscoring his potential.

The upcoming international tournament will provide Ronaldo Jr. with his first real test at the international level and an opportunity to make a name for himself on the global stage. For fans and scouts alike, it’s a chance to witness whether the next generation of the Ronaldo dynasty is ready to shine.

As the world watches his first steps with Portugal’s U15 team, one thing is certain Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. is no longer just the son of a legend; he’s beginning to write his own story.
